After 6 years with my Extradium family I’m moving on to my next adventure. I’ve worked with so many talented and smart people over these last few years. Of course, I’m betting that there will be even better people at my new job. That’s one of the reasons I’m leaving. The other is money. You wouldn’t believe how much more money they’ll give me just for being new to the company.
I’m going to miss all my friends at Extradium. For a little while. Then I’ll start going to happy hours with my new team, probably. They’ll be my new friends. We’ll do pub trivia and we’ll actually win sometimes. We’ll for sure bond over that.
I’ll make sure to stay in touch with a select group of people from my old team. Mostly on LinkedIn. Mostly to learn about other jobs that might offer me even more money. It’s a bittersweet career transition, of course. Excited for my next chapter, but I’ll miss the free snacks very much.
I’ve learned so much during my time at Extradium. Skills my new job will pay more money for than the company that helped me learn them.
As I reflect on these past 6 years, I keep coming back to the following three things:
WFH is really nice
Most offices have free snacks
I should have done this sooner
